Olisa Adibua Meets With Assault Victim, Tenders Apology
In a series of unfolding events, the Olisa-Adewunmi case has been made very popular by the fact that all parties have duly responded to the brutal incident by releasing statements to the public. However, it might come to an end as both parties have gone on to settle on camera.
Let’s do a quick recap – There was the main story of the BEAT Fm OAP, Olisa Adibua allegedly assaulting and severely injuring a junior colleague Adewunmi Oyekanmi, which was followed by Adewunmi’s statement claiming that Olisa had settled with him. Shortly after BEAT FM released an official statement, confirming and condemning the altercation which was finally followed by Olisa’s official statement saying he was ‘sorry’.
On Tuesday, September 13, 2011, a video clip of Olisa and Adewunmi was released on the web. Both parties seem to be at peace with each other and tried as much as possible to inform the public that they have ‘settled their differences’
‘I want to use the medium to say that we have settled anything that might have happened between us, internally‘, Adewunmi said. He also added ‘Anybody who is trying to use this to get back….at personalities are doing that at their own ruin‘. ‘Olisa and I are best of friends‘, Adewunmi insists.
‘I will also want to use this medium to offer you a full frontal A-cap apology for what happened. Even though I’ve done that in private and also the letter that I wrote on Sunday, still I want to say thank you for accepting my apology‘, Olisa told Adewunmi in the clip.
Olisa also thanked everyone who sent in messages especially the negative ones which he says he thoroughly deserves. The program director is currently serving a four-week suspension.
