Oreka Resumes Work With NN24

ARENADBABY

A few weeks ago, we reported that popularly on-air-personality Oreka Godis had quit her job at Lagos based Urban Radio station BEAT FM 99.9.
It hasn’t taken long for the talker to ‘bounce back’ – but this time she has opted for a TV job. Just last week, Rhecks resumed work at popular news channel NN24 and according to her, has been working from the background.
The OAP tells us she hasn’t officially announced her resumption at the news channel because she is still ‘undergoing training’.
I was introduced to them by a friend and they poached me (laughs)’, Oreka tells us how the new job came about. ‘I haven’t made my resumption official because I’m going through a bit of training’, she added.
Those who are expecting to match that face with the lovely voice might have to wait a little longer as Oreka says she’ll be working from the background for now. ‘I’m going to be working behind the scenes for now. There’s so much work to be done, the prospects are amazing and I feel it’s a new avenue for me’, she says.
Rhecks also chipped in that she will definitely be building on her experience.
Oreka moved from the UK to Nigeria to pick up the job of a radio host at the BEAT FM in March 2009. In less than three years she became very popular with the weekday show ‘Morning Rush’ which she co-anchored with Olisa Adibua. She resigned in October for ‘personal reasons’.
As she begins to ply her trade at NN24, pundits are watching to see what the next few months will bring – NN24 has in the past months, been plagued by staff exodus, and management challenges causing the CNN-styled news station to spend months off air.
